How to connect your MIDI keyboard to Piano Tree on Web and iOS. Troubleshooting, Bluetooth, and platform-specific tips.
We support connecting your MIDI keyboard on both our Web App and iOS App. Here is how to get set up on each platform.
Web App Connection
First, ensure you are using a supported browser like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
Safari is not supported for MIDI connections due to browser limitations.
- Connect your keyboard via USB to your computer
- Launch Piano Tree in your browser
- Allow MIDI access when prompted by the browser
- Verify connection: Go to Settings → Audio Input → MIDI. Your keyboard should appear in the list.
If your device is not detected, try refreshing the page.
iOS App Connection
On iPhone and iPad, we support both USB (via reliable adapters) and Bluetooth MIDI.
- USB Connection: Connect using a Lightning/USB-C to USB adapter.
- Bluetooth MIDI: Go to Settings → Bluetooth MIDI in the app to scan and pair your device directly.
Technical Note
We use WebMIDI for the web app and CoreMIDI for iOS, ensuring broad compatibility with almost all modern digital pianos and keyboards.
